President Launches “One Student, One Laptop initiative.

The Ghana Smart Schools Project was officially launched on Monday, March 25, 2024. This initiative is a significant step towards enhancing e-learning and digitization in the country’s education system. The project aims to provide compromise teaching and learning, management system, digital learning,content, and electronic devices to all Senior High School (SHS) and Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) schools nationwide.

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo announced that as part of this project, Smart Tablets will be distributed to 1.3 million SHS students across Ghana. These tablets are equipped with digital content to aid research, teaching and learning. Additionally, the government has plans to construct approximately 100 smart SHSs within the next two years to further improve the learning environment and educational opportunities for students.

This project aligns with the Ministry of Education’s digitalization agenda for pre-tertiary education and supports the government’s goal of preparing Ghanaian students for the 4th Industrial Revolution.
