The rich culture and heritage festival also known as Hogbestosto Za is celebrated by the people of the ANLO in the Volta Region of Region of Ghana. The Ewes are believed to have migrated first from Southern Sudan before settling at Notsie. At Notsie, due to the unfavorable treatment and unbearable nature of the wicked King Agorkorli, they had to escape by walking backward. This festival is celebrated yearly by the people of the ANLOs to commemorate the Exodus and the bravery of their Ancestors who left them through the journey to their present -day settlement.

This year’s Hogbestosto Za was launched on Wednesday, 23rd August 2023 at Agblor Lodge -Dzelukope, Keta to be precise, and is expected to be celebrated under the auspices of Dutor of ANLO, Togbuiga Wenya lll.

October 30th to November 4th, 2023 is when the festival takes place and comes with a series of activities lined up throughout the week to the grand durbar on Saturday, November 4th, 2023
