A young man nearly shed tears after buying GOB3 for Ghc14.00

The economic situation in the country has compelled many Ghanaians to struggle to make ends meet. Transport fares has risen to an unimaginable margin, sachet water at a cost of Ghc10.00 per bag, foodstuffs are getting expensive day in day out. In spite of these, many of the youth can no longer afford a three square meal a day.

A young man who was interviewed by a TV3 reporter on the current economic hardship at a GOB3 joint in Accra, following the President’s address to the nation lamented bitterly about the current price of his favourite “life saver” Gob3. Gob3 is one of the most popular and ever satisfying meal enjoyed by most Ghanaians because of its nutritional value and it’s less cost as compared to other foods. Many young people including low income folks resort to eaten it due to how it sustains them for hours when complimented by drinking water.

According to the young man, Gob3 has become expensive that it was far beyond his budget before he set off from the house, but on reaching there the prices had changed which he could not afford to return than to buy the Gob3 at it’s new price. At first,he could buy the Gob3 and plantain at Ghc6.00 but now beans alone cost Ghc6.00 and plantain giving a total of Ghc14.00. He was very furious and hungry at the same time so he just had to go ahead and and take the food. Because of this he couldn’t even enjoy his meal as he used to. During the interview with the TV3 reporter, the young man almost shed tears for spending Ghc14.00 for only Gob3 and he hadn’t even bought drinking water yet.
